Transfer pipet FAQs

What is the difference between capacity and bulb draw?

Total capacity describes the pipet’s stated overall volume. Bulb draw describes the volume drawn into the pipet with one bulb operation. A pipet’s graduation scale may cover a smaller volume than its total capacity.

When should I choose an exact volume pipet?

Choose an exact volume pipet when the procedure calls for a defined small-volume dispense. The linked range includes 50, 100, 200, and 250 µL models. The brochure also lists a 75 µL special-order model; contact Globe Scientific for assistance with that option.

Which pipets work with viscous liquids or small particulates?

Wide bore pipets provide a larger opening for transferring viscous liquids and small particulates. Bellows pipets use an accordion-shaped bulb that provides strong suction for viscous liquid handling. Select based on your sample, required opening, and volume.

Are sterile and non-sterile options available?

Yes. Many styles are available non-sterile or sterile. Sterile packaging can include individually wrapped pipets or packs of 10 or 20, depending on the item. Use the packaging filter and review the linked item page for its exact configuration.

What material are Globe transfer pipets made from?

The pipets are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Their one-piece, disposable construction provides an alternative to glass Pasteur pipets with separate rubber bulbs. The brochure lists an operating temperature range of −50°C to 90°C. Confirm chemical compatibility and suitability for the intended procedure.
